The First Edition in this annual series of Wedgwood Christmas plates, entited "Victorian Almanac", decorated with drawings in the style of Victorian greeting card. The center design features the year 1971, surrounded by cherubs and small children engaged in activities appropriate to the months of the year. Each month features a banner giving the name of the month; a pendant medallion featuring the Zodiac sign associated with the month; and children engaged in activities appropriate to that particular month. MARCH shows PISCES (the fish), with one child preparing the soil for a garden while another plays with the spring birds. JULY shows CANCER (the crab), with children engaged in the summer leisure activities of swimming and playing.
