Phillips Exeter Academy Plates by Wedgwood

Royal Cauldon (England)  issued College Plates for a few schools in the 1930s, including Dartmouth College and Phillips Exeter Academy.  When Royal Cauldon was bought out, Wedgwood  took over production of these plates for these schools.  In the early 1970's, Wedgowwd issued this single plate for Phillips Exeter Academy, showing the new Library, designed by Louis I. Kahn and completed in 1971. Transfer printed in red on a Queensware (fine earthenware) plate, 10 inches in diameter, with a custom designed border featuring the School Seal ta the top of the plate.
