Bowdoin College Plate by Wedgwood

Wedgwood produced a series of twelve college plates in 1931 for Bowdoin College in Maine.  The custom designed border includes the school seal at the top, coat of arm and motto at the bottom, and a mixture of pine needles, oak and maple leaves.  Although also available in blue, most of the plates were transfer printed in black; the school colors are black and white.  Approximately 10.5 inches in diameter, Queensware (earthenware).   I have none in stock; this is the Walker Art Building.
